where the jungle meets the ocean

Tiskita Jungle Lodge is carefully chosen to host this mindful retreat due to its untouched and restored nature, local community (owned and operated by Costa Ricans who hire Costa Ricans, this is an important aspect of preserving culture and community in this country), beautiful forests and beaches. A place to have a nature-immersive experience while also having our human creature comforts met. It is a very remote and natural location. It is difficult to still find places like this in our overdeveloped and busy world. Many wildlife groups & bird watching tours come here annually specifically to Tiskita, including the World Wildlife Fund. @world_wildlife

BEAUTIFUL TISKITA in PUNTA BANCO 🦋 @tiskitajunglelodge and tiskita.com

“Tiskita Private Biological Reserve is a protected area. It is the result of the conservation work by Peter Aspinall, Tiskita’s owner, and his wife Lisbeth, which they started in the 1970s. An extensive trail-system crosses the reserve. The reserve comprises primary tropical rainforest (roughly 300 acres), secondary tropical rainforest, and areas of reforestation. Many animal and plant species thrive in Tiskita.”

Punta Banco is mix of beach activities, wildlife, and local cultures - located on the furthest southern border before Panama. This small village with only about 200 residents is easy to overlook. You'll enjoy vast black sand wild beaches free from overcrowding and large resorts. The lush rainforests and unspoiled natural areas surrounding Punta Banco are home are a wide variety of plants and animals.

All is the Osa - “this rainforest is one of the most biologically intense places on earth according to National Geographic”

Rooms & accommodations

Tiskita has beautiful cabinas; more images here - Single and two-bed room cabinas are available at different prices. Every room has its charm! Sorry, you will not get to pick your room for the retreat but you can let me know if you have any special needs to keep in mind.

Partial digital detox. Rooms do not have Wi-Fi connection but the Yoga Shala (close to the rooms) and the Main Lodge & Dining area does. A good portion of your week-long retreat experience is partly disconnecting from social media and phones in order to make space for full experience of jungle life.

Bonita Cabinas

Each room has its own charm… newly renovated cabins. 2 bedroom options are spacious and beautiful and 1 bedroom private options. Each with their own deck to sit outside with beautiful jungle ocean views.

Bonita Vistas

Beautiful spaces to sit outside at every cabina often including chairs and/or hammocks. You can see the ocean and jungle from every cabina.

Private Outdoor Bathrooms

There is nothing better than showering outside with the monkeys! Hot water & amazing botanical soaps from Costa Rica. These bathrooms combine nature and luxury.

Around me the trees stir in their leaves and call out, “Stay awhile.” The light flows from their branches. And they call again, “It's simple,” they say, “and you too have come into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled with light, and to shine.”
